The game was a torrid affair from the first ball upwith the Demons throwing Alex Erlandson into theruck and parking Joel Walsh at the spearhead, andboth these moves brought a modicum of success asthe former was leaping over Tiger ruckman ArnoldKirby.

The Tigers, however, were well and truly primed foraction and their running brigade were a little morecomposed early, particularly in the defensive half.

Jamie Nicholas led the back six with some verypositive play under pressure for the Woorinen Tigers, while Kyle Steicke continued his great defensivework from last week.

That great drive from the back gave the Tigerrunners many opportunities to attack managing toscore in a quarter where goal opportunities were arare commodity.

At the first break they enjoyed an eight-point bufferand that set up the next two terms for a desperatestruggle where tackling and turnovers became thenorm.

The long break saw the margin still eight points infavour of the visitors but in total only three majorshad been registered for the second term, an indicationof the intensity of the action.

The third term delivered a little more of the samebut the tackling and turn overs continued to the detrimentof the game as a spectacle but the big crowdhung in waiting for something to happen.

And something did happen.

The Tigers still had the run for which they arerenowned and, true to their reputation as strongfi nishers, scored a very creditable three goals to nil inthe final term.
